A reborn doll is a manufactured skin doll that has been transformed by a reborn artist to resemble a human infant with as much realism as possible. The process of creating a reborn doll is referred to as reborning and the doll artists are referred to as reborners.
In this video we visit one of the best doll makers in Denmark, Karin Selvig. She has devoted her life to making dolls that resembles real babies. One of her customers is a young woman who cannot have children of her own. It's a unique portrayal of the love between a mother and a child.
The video is a collaboration with Mathias Svold and has won the Danish Photo of the Year Multimedia production in 2014 and was one of the winners in The PDN Photo Annual 2015.
